Mohamed Mousa

My concentration of study is Computational Biology and Genomics. We get a strong background in Biology and study Bioinformatics algorithmic foundations in addition to Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems. I take my elective courses with the Communications and Information Engineering Program on Big Data Analytics and Deep Learning techniques. I have also been through a solid foundation in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Economics and Project Management from my General Education courses.

It is a five-course specialization giving the foundations of Deep Learning, and how to build neural networks. We learn about Convolutional networks, RNNs, LSTM, Adam, Dropout, BatchNorm, Xavier/He initialization, and more. The specialization is based on case studies from healthcare, autonomous driving, sign language reading, music generation, and natural language processing.

We learn to manipulate and prepare data for analysis, and create visualizations for data exploration from a business perspective using Python, SQL and spreadsheets. We also get a bonus freelancing content.

I was teaching Introduction to Programming and Computer Science courses in Python and MATLAB to younger colleagues. I currently work on a research project using deep learning to detect the epitope region of an antigen for enhanced vaccine designs (joined with my graduation project.)

I love to teach. I am passionate to give all what I learnt in simple, well-structured tutorials on my personal YouTube channel (ref link: to be sent) and Code Arabi. This is the job if they asked me to choose only one for life, I will choose it.

I was helping in the management of the kids STEM educational division of the company: BEDO Planet Academy. I prepared science courses curricula in addition to a bootcamp in Artificial Intelligence for kids. I also gave Trainings of Trainers (ToTs) for people who taught the content to the children.

I prepared the study content and year roadmap for the team, and started the first condensed course of the year on Machine Learning using Google Cloud Platform.

I was managing the biggest projects of IEEE ZC SB. My match of retirement was AppX ’20: Think, act, and change mega event which hosted a technology summit and a hackathon in October 2020.

I was managing the event logistics and operations in addition to the financial stuff of the club. Although it is an academic club focusing on Physics topics, I enjoyed working with them so much!

Code Arabi is a startup focused on delivering high-quality programming education to Arabs for free through YouTube. Tutorials are prepared and taught on the international standards but with an Arabic tongue. The current focus of Code Arabi is to spread Artificial Intelligence education for all Arabs and then expand to other fields.

HealthInside is an aspiring health-tech startup providing new solutions for the healthcare ecosystem using the Internet of Things. We design our all-in-one ecosystem to substitute the patient in any routine work and follow their medical status with tools and devices and help them maintain their health well in an easy way.
